2015 Sedona Review

South Korea's oldest car manufacturer, Kia emerged as an industrial force beginning in 1944, manufacturing cars and trucks for nearly fifty years. Offering a very full line of coupes, sedans, and crossover SUVs, the auto maker's commitment to the US market was demonstrated by the opening of a brand new assembly plant in Georgia, built at a cost of over one billion dollars.

The 2015 Kia Sedona NJ Review

Now in its second generation, the Kia Sedona minivan was introduced to the US market during the 2005 Chicago Auto Show. It's available in two different trims, the "EX" and the "LX". With style updates for the 2015 model year, the five-door, seven/eight passenger vehicle is destined to capture a larger share of the class.

Performance

The minivan is powered by Kia's 3.3 L "Lambda" direct injection, V6 gasoline engine, with 276 horsepower controlled by a standard six speed automatic transmission.  EPA estimated highway is expected to top 24 mpg, a strong showing for the class. 

 

Exterior

A strong styling line running the length of the mini van, combined with a re-sculpted hood and Kia's distinctive signature grill give the Sedona an appearance that closely resembles today's SUVs, an advantage in a class where most vehicles appear to have similar looks. Built on a new chassis for 2015, the Sedona has added length, which has increased both leg and cargo room in the cabin.

Interior

Available in both seven and eight passenger seating configurations, Sedona buyers can choose to opt for second row 'executive type' seating with retractable leg rests. Fold down options in the second row add cargo room, and the available 'no touch' tailgate eases loading and unloading. 

Interior comfort, technology and standard equipment places the Sedona squarely in the 'best value' class, with synthetic leather upholstery standard, and Napa leather heated seats upgrade available. 

Front and center, USB and 115 volt AC outputs assure your personal devices will never run out of power. 

The next generation UVO telematics system will be part of the 2015 Sedona's offering, with streaming audio and data services from Pandora, Yelp, and more, and real time GPS caching, speed and curfew alerts. The touch screen system provides an unprecedented array of services in addition to entertainment, from hands-free control to trip info, emergency services and car maintenance alerts.

 

Safety

The 2015 Sedona will offer a host of latest safety features, with available rear camera, forward collision warning, blind spot detection, and a 360 degree camera view.
