kia cadenza vs hyundai azera

These are both big, five-passenger sedans with powertrains that are almost identical. The most significant difference is that the Hyundai Azera has been around for a few years and enjoyed a refresh in 2012. The Kia Cadenza, however, is a new car for Kia for the 2014 model year and is the first big sedan that they have produced since the Amanti in 2009; it is a beautiful car. Both the Cadenza and the Azera come in two trim levels.

Powertrain/Build

Both the Kia Cadenza and the Hyundai Azera are powered by a 3.3-liter DOHC V6 engine that puts out 293 horsepower and drives the front wheels through a shiftable 6-speed automatic transmission.  There is a small difference in gas mileage: The Kia is rated at 18 city/28 highway miles per gallon, while the Hyundai is rated at 19 city/29 highway.

Both vehicles come in two trim levels. The Kia can be purchased in either the Premium or Limited model and the Hyundai in the Base or Limited model with the difference being in the standard options on either model for both brands. There is only one engine available in both the Kia and the Hyundai, and the six-speed is the only transmission available. The cars are almost identical in size, but the lines of the new Kia Azera are sexy, and the designers have achieved a look that is very similar to BMW's 7 Series models.

Standard Features/Trim Levels

Both vehicles come well equipped with a few options available. The packages that are offered cover the bases of a luxury sedan quite well. Both are equipped with front power seats for both the driver and passenger, with eight-way and four-way power front seats for the Kia Cadenza and eight-way power seats for both the driver and passenger in the Hyundai Azera. These are the offerings on the Premium Cadenza and the Base Azera. Both offer cruise control, rearview cameras, and tilt-and-telescoping steering wheels, and the Kia gives you the option of either 18- or 19-inch wheels.

Electronics in both vehicles are what one has come to expect from new cars on today's market. The Kia Cadenza is equipped with an AM/FM stereo with auxiliary audio inputs and USB connections for your extra electronics. The Kia's audio system is an Infinity brand unit that is wired to 12 speakers. The Hyundai's system offers six.

The cabins of both vehicles are luxuriously elegant and wrap you and your passengers in leather. The controls are within easy reach, and the Kia's touchscreen navigation is easy to use and easy to see with UVO eServices telecommunication. The Kia is also equipped with a real-time traffic monitor to help you efficiently make your way from place to place.

Kia Cadenza vs Hyundai Azera - Summary
