The South Korean automobile manufacturer Kia has been known for making practical, reliable vehicles. This is why everyone was so shocked when they introduced the K900 for the 2015 model year. Though the newest Kia boasts a $60,000 price tag, it's still being praised as one of the best overall values in the automotive industry. Another vehicle drawing similar critical acclaim is the 2014 Ford Fusion. The two vehicles have to be compared side-by-side to determine which truly holds more value for residents of Patterson, NJ.

Physical Beauty

The Ford Fusion is one of the most uniquely designed vehicles on the North American market. The robust body is much wider than other vehicles within the $22,000 price range. The Fusion is also available in a handsome five-door version that features the wagon crossover style that has become so popular recently. The sedan trim of the Ford Fusion offers less utility than the hatchback, but it still utilizes the same rounded design.

The Kia K900 features a bold design that can hardly be recognized as a South Korean car. Not only is the K900 larger than any previously made Kia, it also features a bold new design that rivals that of much more expensive, European sedans. The K900 has the regal appeal consistently associated with luxury vehicles, but it lacks the universal appeal of the Ford Fusion. The Fusion takes the exterior comparison for having a cute design that will appeal to far more people.

Inside the Vehicles

Leather seats and wood trim might be expected in a $60,000 automobile; however, it would be faster to list the special features that the K900 doesn't have. Virtually every standard feature imaginable comes standard on the K900. Steering wheel controls for volume and cruise control, a 900-watt surround sound audio system with 17 speakers and a subwoofer, lane departure warning, panoramic sunroof, voice-activated navigation, a heated steering wheel, and push button start are but a few of the standard features on the 2014 K900.

The interior of the Ford Fusion has always been surprisingly roomy. The trunk's 13.2 cubic feet makes it one of the most spacious in the mid-sized sedan class. The voice-activated MyFord system was one of the first ever offered, but it's less responsive than more modern systems. The Ford Fusion is one of the best values on the market, but its interior never stood a chance in this comparison. The K900 easily wins the interior comparison.

Performance Comparison

The Ford Fusion is a lot of fun to drive because it holds the road so well. The Ford Fusion is a great option for first-time car owners, but it never stood a chance against the much better equipped Kia K900. Despite the Fusion's 2.0-liter, 4-cylinder engine, which gets an impressive 38 miles per gallon on the highway, it is once again outclassed by the K900.

The Kia K900 is one of the smoothest riding cars available, and its handling and responsive nature are similar to those found on $100,000 plus vehicles. The eight-speed, rear-wheel drive transmission shifts seamlessly, forming a real bond with the driver.

Regardless of the $60,000 price tag, the Kia K900 is the best overall value in the automotive industry. The Ford Fusion is a great option for first-time car owners, but it never stood a chance against the Kia K900. Patterson, NJ residents should turn to JackDaniels Kia when they want to take a test drive of this outstanding vehicle.
